A Message Regarding the "We Not Me" Event
"First of all, on behalf of Bill Haley, Jeff Carr, Lacy, special needs class aids, Jaret, and myself, thank you for all the support and kind words people have expressed via email about the ¨We Not Me" event. Your words give us the utmost confidence that we have provided a day that will be cherished by 30 plus students for the rest of their lives. Truly an uplifting day making Pleasant Valley High a great place to teach at. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are humbled dearly.
However, we have to give several individuals credit for making this event a success. (Here we go but it has to be done)
Thank you
- Brad Feingold ...Our exceptional MC who was great on the mic.
- Ryan Heimlich, Gabe Bettner (Isabel, Mia, Ruby, and Iris) and the PV Band who provided the National Anthem and some awesome music keeping the spirit alive throughout the event.
- Donna Henderson and the PV Cheer...another integral piece of spirit and inspiration.
- John Shepherd...our fearless leader who was perfect on the court officiating.
- Amy Keating (my wife) for her words of wisdom, unconditional love, and infinite support.
- Penny Melvin and Patti Flint for their tremendous support and the beautiful program for the kids
- Stefanie Volk, Charles Suminsky, Blue crew, and stugo....beautiful posters and engaging the crowd.
- Pam Jackson, Tony Tallerico, and the PE staff for allowing us to use their facilities and the clock.

- Kremer Family and PV basketball parents for providing the kids with a yummy lunch, shirts, and support.
- Joe Shufelburger , Lee Carrell, and Ross Fields and ER staff for excellent coverage once again showcasing the kids spot on.

Parkview Elementary STEM Takes An Engineering Field Trip ... On Bikes
Fifth graders at Parkview Elementary took an amazing field trip.
- First stop - Paul Components where they learned how they use the engineering design process to make parts for bicycles. They saw the computer animated designs, the machines that make the parts and the assembly area.
- Second stop - A tour of Greenline Cycles where they got to see the mechanic's area and the showroom.
- Third stop - They met Slater and Sons Construction Company at Caper Acres where they were the first to see the newly remodeled, yet to be opened, playground entrance. They compared the blueprints to the actual work being done.
Mr. Swingle planned the trip using the Chico Bike Map and students practiced safe riding concepts they learned in the classroom.
