I write this note today excited to be your new school principal! My return to GKES has been a journey and full circle moment, as I started my career at GKES as a 1st grade teacher in the late 1990s.

I hope this message finds you enjoying the rejuvenating days of summer and that you and your children ae looking forward to beginning a wonderful school year. I can assure you that I am committed to caring for your children each day while providing them a safe and loving school environment where they can thrive as learners and individuals.

Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as principal where I find my passion and fulfillment of my life's work, making a greater impact on all of our children. The principalship affords me the opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I believe that every child can grow and excel. The partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their passion to shape their future and the future of our community and our nation.

In continuing with the values and traditions that underlie GKES, I will continue to look to our staff, students and families for additional insight that will enhance our school culture and academics. I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. We will be meeting with parents, students, and staff throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school culture and climate, and parent engagement.

Our first Meet and Greet opportunity will take place on August 10th, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at Greenview Knolls Elementary School on the new playground. We will serve popsicles. Please feel free to stop by, if only for a few moments to say hello!

To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I hope that you are excited for this coming school year and you are out this summer playing, relaxing, and reading tons of books with your family and friends. It is going to be a fun year learning together. If you are nearby the school at all the remainder of the summer, please stop by and say hello!

In closing, my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work together. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2023-2024 school year.
