GINGERBREAD HOUSES & A STORY WALK
Our PTG and Valuing Our Children teamed up to put on a fun and festive event for families before winter break. Students followed a gingerbread man story walk leading to the cafeteria where many gingerbread houses were decorated. Thank you to our PTG for planning this event and providing gingerbread houses and frosting. Thank you to everyone who brought toppings to share. Lastly, thank you to Jennifer Aldrich from Valuing Our Children for hosting the story walk and providing books for each family in attendance.

ALL ABOARD!
Students in grades K-2 were surprised by the annual reading of "The Polar Express." Students received their tickets and boarded the train. After teachers checked and punched tickets, teachers took turns reading aloud the story "The Polar Express". Students were then treated to hot chocolate before unloading the train. The amazement continued when students unexpectedly discovered bells in their coat pockets as they dressed to go home.
WINTER CONCERT
RCS families and friends filled the auditorium at Athol High School during our winter concert. Students from each grade performed winter-themed song selections. Audience members were also treated to performances from the band and chorus. The chorus performed a song from the very popular movie "Frozen." The evening concluded with the whole school singing "Let it Snow." A huge thank you to Erin Girouard for organizing and producing a wonderful winter concert for RCS.
Holiday Cookies
The holiday season is a time of giving and the staff, families and students of our school community worked together to provide some holiday cheer to those in need. Many families donated ingredients needed. Each class worked together mixing and baking cookies. With the help of many staff, including our kitchen manager, Carol Brown, our halls were filled with the smell of warm, fresh-baked cookies. Student Council members worked together to sort and package cookie containers. Combined with donations from staff, platters of cookies were given as holiday gifts to families in our local community. What a fun way for our whole school to be involved. Tis the season for love and giving.

All winners will be called and most winners will be announced on our PTG Facebook page (Royalston Community School PTG). Thank you all for your support as we are raising funds to provide field trips and enrichment learning opportunities for our school.
