A NOTE FROM MR. MOON
Greetings Students and Parents,
Thank you for being flexible during all of these changes. I hope that you are catching up on some sleep and practicing! Just keep doing what we all know you are capable of, which is being the BEST!
Here are some resources we will be using over the next few weeks to keep everyone caught up and to assist those who might need some extra help during this time:
Internet Access
Comcast Internet Essentials COVID-19 Package https://www.internetessentials.com/covid19. In response to emergency measures associated with Coronavirus (COVID-19), Internet Essentials will increase speeds from 15/2 Mbps to 25/3 Mbps for all customers. This speed increase will happen automatically; no action is required by customers. In addition, new customers will receive two months of free service. To qualify, students/families must be qualified for free/reduced lunch or a state funded assistance program such as Medicaid or food stamps
Xfinity WiFi Free For Everyone: Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser.

BAND BOOSTERS UPDATE
M.A.R.C.H UPDATE
Our 3rd Annual M.A.R.C.H. was a tremendous success! Our unofficial preliminary numbers for our total gross proceeds is $15,919. Last year we raised $10,963. And in 2018 we raised $24,606.
We have been asked by several members to keep our webpage for MARCH 2020 up and running still at RoswellBand.com. Folks are still asking how to donate and where can one get the official t-shirt!
A huge thanks to the good people at Modern Woodmen of America for being the lead Corporate Sponsor. As a part of their matching program, they donated $2,000. To learn more how Modern Woodmen of America can benefit you, contact Melissa Petreshock at: 470-240-1883 (cell) or 770-609-1977 (office). You can also email her at Melissa.Petreshock@mwarep.org
Our Service Day on Saturday, March 7th was amazing. Even the sun came out! There was so much good energy. All the kids who came out to serve were surprised with a free t-shirt because they made it a point to come out, serve and give back to Roswell for the day. At our morning kick-off, we had a surprise guest speaker, Matt Judy from the Roswell City Council, to share some encouraging words.
Students and parent volunteers did remarkable work at the following work sites:
Vickery Creek - trail / trash clean up
Mimosa Hall - dead limb and bamboo removal
Gymnastics Center - cleaning
Fulton County Foster Care - organizing clothes and donations
Recycling Center – assisted with customer drop offs and organize
City of Mountain Park - cleaned up
Smith Plantation – landscaping and clean up
Roswell North Elementary - gardening
Azalea and Waller Park - trash and litter removal
Our Hornets made some good buzz on social media too. Thank you, Tom Brown, Josh Knutson and Cathy Kramer! Go to our Facebook and Instagram pages to see pictures. This is a fabulous opportunity for all members to help get another wave of donations since our Service Day.
We are missing garden shears and a garden trowel. Please email president@roswellband.com if you have seen them or have them.
If you borrowed a first aid kit from the band that day, please email admin@roswellband.com so we can figure out how to get those returned.
On our end, our MARCH committee will do the following:
email a summary of donors so that you can send a ‘thank you’ note to each of them;
distribute reminaing t-shirts to our donors and students;
discuss possible arrangements for a second service day for the students who couldn’t make 3/7
determine how to get student incentives to the 51 kids who achieved these targets:
Number Individual Prizes:
41 $100 = A free Official MARCH T-Shirt
27 $200 = $10 iTunes gift card
