MARVELOUS EXAMPLES
George Washington's Socks (Historical Fiction)
One example of historical fiction is George Washington's Socks by: Elvira Woodruff. This story takes place during the Revolutionary war, but a group of friends from the present day, travel back in time. They go on an adventure to try to return home, facing difficulties and making new friends along the way.
One Crazy Summer (Historical Fiction)
One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams Garcia, is another example of the Historical Fiction genre. this story took place when the Black Panthers fought for African American rights. Three young girls travel to go see there mom who left them. On the way, they uncover many secrets and experience many bad things involving cruelty to different races.
The Legend of Atlantis (Legend)
The lost city of Atlantis is supposedly positioned underwater somewhere in the Atlantic ocean. The story is told with the founders of Atlantis said to be half god, half human. They lived on a chain of islands that were rich in gold, silver, diamonds, and rare, exotic wildlife. The spiritual people who lived in this highly utopian civilization became greedy and bankrupt. This caused the gods to get angry. As punishment the enraged gods sunk Atlantis.
