Lewis Pugh was born on December 5, 1969. He is a ocean advocate, a maritime lawyer, and pioneer swimmer. Lewis Pugh is known for being the first person to complete a long-distance swim in every ocean in the world. He is mostly known for swimming across the North Pole in 2007. Lewis is also known for swimming across a glacial lake on Mount Everest. The reason he swam across all seven seas was to make people realize they need more Marine Protected Areas which are areas of water that are protected. Lewis was inspired to become a ocean advocate by one of his friends who told him to follow his dreams not someone else's. One of his dreams is to have oceans that are full of live and to restore health to oceans. Lewis Pugh is an influential person because he helped people realize that their existences relies on water to survive.
