BIDDEFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
January 26, 2022
Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians,
I hope this newsletter finds you Safe, Happy & Healthy.
As we approach the end of January, there are lots of new happenings at Biddeford Middle School. We have recently completed our Winter NWEA Testing and have begun new Unified Arts classes as the second semester has launched. Additionally, our students have transitioned into a new round of Intervention classes.
Colder weather has certainly found its way to Maine. Our district has also been fortunate to receive some grant funding to assist those in need. If your child is in need of warm winter gear, please reach out to a member of our student services team.
Be safe and healthy,
Mr. Scott Descoteaux
Principal - Biddeford Middle School

Welcome Mr. Adam Flynn
Biddeford Middle School would like to welcome Mr. Adam Flynn, our new Student Service Coordinator. Mr. Flynn has been a math teacher at Biddeford High School for the past few years and has also served as the Women's Ice Hockey Coach. He has completed his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and aspires to be an educational leader.
Mr. Flynn grew up in Presque Isle and comes from a long line of leaders. He has great energy and has been extremely successful at connecting with students at Biddeford High School.
We look forward to introducing our newest staff member on his first day next Monday. Mr. Flynn will be a GREAT addition to our school.

NURSING UPDATE
Every home in the US is now eligible to receive four free at-home COVID-19 test kits. Simply go to www.covidtests.gov and fill in your household information. Tests will ship to your home in approximately 7-12 days. In addition, at the end of this week every American is eligible to receive three free N95 masks per person (see PPH article here). The masks will be delivered to pharmacies and community health centers that partnered with the federal government to provide vaccinations and are available for distribution. At this time, there is no information on N-95 masks for children, and we ask parents to please send their child(ren) with additional masks each day.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO REPORT POSITIVE RESULTS via the Google Forms below or call the school directly.
Going forward, an email will be sent informing parents of positive cases and we will continue to make personal phone calls if your child tests positive due to pooled testing. We ask all families to pay close attention to their emails for the possibility of notifications related to their child(ren) and follow the instructions within the email for modified quarantine, symptom monitoring, and testing. If you are not receiving emails from the school, please check your spam folder and ensure your information is up-to-date in the parent portal.
