This week are the 1st and 2nd-grade spring concerts. Please see more specific information in the newsletter below.

Safety Reminder: When dropping off your child(ren) at school in the morning, please remember a few safety rules:

1. No cars should be parked or pulled over next to the yellow curb at the corner of Center Street and East Walnut Street. Currently, there are cones in front of the yellow curb as a reminder of this. When cars pull over and park at this corner, it makes it difficult for the school buses to safely turn the corner onto East Walnut Street and then turn again into the bus loop.

2. When dropping off your child(ren), please do not stop your car in the middle of the road. When cars do this, it poses a safety issue for students as they cross the road. Cars should be completely pulled over to the sidewalk so that students can safely exit their cars and follow the sidewalk to the walker doors on the side of the building.

3. No child should walk across the bus loop when they are dropped off. Students should follow the sidewalk along the bus loop to the side walker doors. Crossing the bus loop while buses are pulling up to the school can pose a safety issue for the students as well as the bus.

We appreciate your willingness to follow these rules so that we can ensure the safety of all of our students whether they are walkers or bus riders.

Please remember when sending water bottles to school with your student, the bottles should contain water only.

As a reminder for the safety of our students and staff, if you are entering the school building whether to pick up your child(ren), volunteer or have lunch with your child(ren), you MUST have your ID. Students will not be released to an adult and adults will not be permitted into the building without proper identification. Thank you for your support.

Students may dress for a regular school day, or wear a “nice” outfit for the show.

If you have a child(ren) who will turn 5 years of age before September 1, 2023, they are eligible to enter Kindergarten for the 23-24 school year. Please call the school office to have your child(ren)'s name and information added to our Kindergarten list for the upcoming school year.

Kindergarten Screening will be held on March 30th and 31st, 2023.

Yearbooks will be on sale starting Monday, March 20th. Information about how to order a yearbook for your child(ren) will go home tomorrow. Yearbooks will be on sale until April 10th. The cost is $17.00.

As a reminder, if your child is absent from school, please contact the school office or email the attendance secretary (CE_Attendance@acschools.org) to make the school aware.

When your child returns to school, a NOTE sent into school or an EMAIL to the attendance secretary must be given within 3 days of the student returning to school in order for the absence to be excused. Failure to provide a note could result in an unexcused absence. *The initial call on the day that your child is absent does not count as a note for excusal.
