Keep Kindness Flowing

During the week of February 16, 2016, we celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Week. Students were provided with The Great Kindness Challenge and asked to complete as many kind acts as they could. If you've seen the sticky notes covering teacher's doors, you've seen some of the kind acts observed during that week. Keep kindness going in your home by reminding students of the "boomerang" of kindness by sharing the Life Vest Inside video below.

We will be hosting a Focus on Your Future Week during the week of April 18, 2016! During the entire month of April Mrs. Gumbert, Ms. Hinch, and I will be making connections between school and work. Our Kindergarten and First Grade Cardinals will be having a special presentation about Careers in Safety on Friday, April, 22 and we are excited to have guests from the City of Austin's Fire and Emergency Medical Technicians! Fingers crossed that we also hear back from the Austin Police Department. If you'd like to "focus on the future" with your older elementary children, Texas Reality Check is a fun place to start. Fifth graders will be exploring this website during our lesson in April and it always leads to great conversations!!
