A Message from the Principals

Hello Millbridge Families,

A HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers who assisted in chaperoning the field trips. Your participation is essential to allowing us to have these events for the students.

Our second-grade green team will be helping clean up the school grounds. We are thankful to the members of the Delran Township Green Team, who continue to partner with us in these efforts and providing materials for this annual tradition.

As the school year quickly comes to a close, the days will be filled with many exciting things. We have field days, fashion shows, and a school-wide Kona Ice celebration planned, which has partnered with us in prior years so that we can offer all students and staff an allergy-safe treat.

Please be reminded that if you are dropping your child off to follow the carpool loop. Please do not bring your child to the main entrance prior to 9:00 am. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have. Our continued thanks for your cooperation, support, and participation in your child's education.

Educationally yours,

Mrs. Massey and Mrs. Murphy

2nd Grade Visiting DIS

Dear 2nd Grade Parents,

We are looking forward to welcoming our incoming 3rd grade students for the 2023-2024 school year here at the Delran Intermediate School. For many, this is a huge transition to a new school, new routines and teachers. Our goal is to make this leap as seamless as possible.

We will have incoming 3rd grade student visitation on June 5 - 7th. Students will travel to DIS, accompanied by their homeroom teacher(s) and counselors, and have the opportunity to tour the building, and learn about what they can expect as 3rd graders. They will get a chance to join a 3rd grade classroom for a read aloud before boarding the bus and returning to Millbridge. You can find the schedule here.

We also want to provide you with the chance to meet your child’s teacher at the start of the new year so save the date for the 3rd Grade Back to School Night that will be held on September 5th @ 5:30pm.

You will receive information before the end of the year regarding 3rd grade Math and Reading summer assignments. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Clark-Hickson

Please update your Dojo app in order to receive all current messages. Failure to do so may result in missing communication from your child's teacher.

From the Nurses

Summer is almost here! If your child has any medications located in the nurse’s office, please plan to pick them up during the last week of the school year. Also, we just wanted to send some medical reminders for the upcoming school year for you to complete over the summer.

  • If your child has asthma, please have your child’s doctor complete an Asthma Action Plan
  • If your child has any allergies, please have your child’s doctor complete an Allergy Action Plan and an Epi Pen Parent Authorization form
  • If your child has a history of seizures please have your child’s doctor complete a Seizure Action Plan
  • If you plan to have your child take any type of medication at school during the upcoming school year, the Medication Permission Form and a written Doctor’s Order is required. This includes prescription medication and over-the-counter medications (such as Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, and cough drops). A new permission form and doctor’s order is required for each school year and must be signed by the parent/guardian and the doctor.
  • Only adults may bring medication to school, a student is not allowed to transport medication to or from school. All medications must be supplied by the parent/guardian and dropped off to the school nurse.
  • All of these forms are available on the Millbridge website under “Nurses’ Office, Health Office Forms.”
  • For student’s entering kindergarten or preschool documentation of immunizations and physical exam is required.

All forms can be dropped off to the school or emailed to us. We know this is a lot to take in! Feel free to email or call us and we can walk you through it. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

1st Day School Supplies

As a convenience to families, we have once again partnered with 1st Day School Supplies! You can visit 1st Day School Supplies to order supplies for grades Pre-School - 5 for next year. Please be sure to choose the grade your child will be entering for the upcoming year.

Please note for the Millbridge lists there is an option to purchase headphones. Headphones will be an additional student supply for grades K - 2. These can be purchased as an optional add-on through First Day School Supplies, you can send in a pair you already own, or one purchased locally.

If you choose to order, your child’s supplies will be waiting for them in their classroom on the first day of school. Unfortunately, due to delivery constraints, supplies will not be available for pick up prior to the start of school, but labels are provided with the kits so your student will be ready to go from Day 1!

The deadline to order is July 1st.

Student Absences

Please be advised that according to our board policy, students need a doctor's note for an absence to be excused. Below you will find the exceptions which can also be found in our board policy.

Exceptions will be made for excused absences which include: (1) illness as certified by a physician within five days; (2) student’s required attendance in court inclusive of documentation; (3) excused religious observances; (4) Take Your Child to Work day; and (5) necessary and unavoidable medical or dental appointments that cannot be scheduled at a time other than the school day. Absences due to vacation are unexcused and are discouraged.

Snack at School

In order to ensure that all students with life-threatening allergies are safe at school, we ask that everyone adhere to this safe snack list.

Important Information: Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast & Lunch can be purchased. We encourage parents begin an account and place money on their student account. Please click here for the breakfast order form.

LOST AND FOUND

Each year, we have countless items ranging from winter coats to backpacks that are lost. We strongly encourage parents to LABEL EVERYTHING with your child’s name, teacher and bus letter. Lost and found items are kept in the gym and put out periodically throughout the year.

Become an Observer in Canvas

If you have not already done so, please be sure to become an observer for your child(ren) in Canvas. The information below is from the district's webpage and will help you become a co-observer. If you have multiple children, you will be able to see everything for them in one place. Teachers will be providing a weekly overview for parents and notes for the week in Canvas.

To enable co-enrollment (observer) in Canvas K-12 your student will need to generate a pairing code and you will need to link the account. A parent may pair (link) to multiple children in the same parent (observer) account.

You will need to set up the pairing through a web browser like Chrome. You cannot enable pairing or observing through the parent app.

Co-enrollment means you can view grades, upcoming assignments and due dates, missing work, and teacher communication.

Teachers can send individual, group, and course-wide messages to students and parents.

Once you're co-enrolled, you'll want to set-up your notification preferences. Click here for instructions on setting up your notification preferences.
