Words of Wisdom

"Life is a handful of short stories, pretending to be a novel."

-Anonymous

Life is a string of short stories, some full of joy, some full of pain, and some full of the comfort that comes from the ordinary, uneventful moments in life. A good story stretches the mind, while touching the heart and searching the soul.

When we share stories, we discover that many of our stories are similar. These stories draw us together. Other stories help us learn to respect our differences. Either way, sharing our stories helps us build relationships and develop community.

When was the last time you shared a story from your own life's experiences with someone new?

Black History Month

January 31-February 4 was the Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action.

The Week of Action is a national movement that affirms the lives of Black students, teachers, and families. This week centers classroom lessons about structural racism, intersectional Black identities, Black history, and anti-racism through the 13 Guiding Principles from the Black Lives Matter movement.

On Wednesday, CPA staff wore Black Lives Matter swag or all black in solidarity and as a show of support of the work being done through Black Lives Matter in Schools. ✊🏽✊🏿✊🏻
