Sugar Levels in Decomposing Fruit
By; Kate, Rachel, and Mackenzie
Biology fun!
Kate poses for the picture as she tries to weight the pineapple on the scale. ( We bought amore accurate food weighing scale later)
Fruit, Fruit, Fruit, Galore!
Each type of fruit has been nicely cut and evenly weighed at 25 grams.
Safety in the Kitchen!
Kate cuts the pineapple with a sharp knife very carefully in order to stay safe and unharmed!
Boiled Fruit Concentration Before the Hydrometer
Each bowl is 25 grams of fruit and 50 milliliters of water boiled- the fruit finely smashed!
3rd Trial
Kate pours the last boiling pan of fruit into a bowl- we are almost done with our experiment at that point!
Good Job Stirring Mackenzie!
Mackenzie stirs and mashes the boiling fruit in order to get it ready for the hydrometer testing!
Hydrometer in Action!
Kate fills the hydrometer with the recommended amount of water and the fruit concentrate and measures how many grams the density of the sugar level is!
