From the Principals Office
Please partner with us to help students to continue building problem solving and executive functioning skills by limiting the dropping off of any forgotten items. Examples of items are lunches, chromebooks, PE uniforms, band instruments, water bottles and homework assignments.
One strategy that can help your child develop is to remember these items by having them pack their backpacks and lunches the night before, leaving all important items by the door. We suggest students place their backpacks near an outlet and charge their chromebooks while it is in the backpacks, only having to unplug it and zip up their bag before they leave. We also encourage students to also use their planners to write reminders for themselves, fostering independence and responsibility.
As for lunch, please consider putting a meal's worth of money on your child's MySchoolBucks account to buy a meal in the event that they forget their lunch. Lunch deliveries through UberEats/Grubhub are not allowed during the school day. No matter the item, we help our Eagles problem-solve to make it through the day without missing items.
When items are delivered to school for your student, please remember that staff cannot deliver these items to your student's classroom. Please drop the item labeled with your student's name in the foyer outside the main office. There are green bins with your child's grade and your child can pick up their items from there. Our counselors also routinely grab the bins before lunch, passing out any items at that time.
Thank you for working with us to help your children develop these important habits!
CELL PHONE USAGE
Permitted cell phone times are before school until the 7:55 a.m. bell and after school, at 3:00 p.m. Cell phones must be off and away for the remainder of the day.
If your student gets caught using their cell phone during the school hours, the
First offense is: A member from our Administration team will hold on to the student's cell phone until the end of the school day, where the student can pick up the phone themselves.
Second offense is: A parent will need to pick up the student's phone after 3:00 p.m.
Third offense is: A parent will meet with someone from our Administraton team to discuss and sign a "No phone while on campus" contract.
