Updates from Mr. Russell
Art Long-Term Substitute
Please help me congratulate Mrs. Finn on the birth of her son, Mica James Finn. Mom and baby are doing very well.
Mrs. Finn is is taking maternity leave and will be at home until the beginning of February. Her long-term substitute will be Ms. Jeanne Bril. Some of you may recall, Ms. Bril recently retired from Wauwatosa and Washington two years ago. Ms. Bril has 25 years of experience teaching art in Wauwatosa and was beloved by students, staff and families. We are fortunate to have her back as she knows the curriculum and is familiar with our building and district. Due to Mrs. Finn having the baby a few weeks early, we will have a sub this week until Ms. Bril is able to join us for the week of November 6th.

“ The Smidgeons and the Glugs “ book for sale
“ The Smidgeons and the Glugs “ is an original fairy tale written by J E Raven, better known around Washington as “ Mr. R”. After nearly twenty years of teaching/coaching, Mr. R retired from teaching in January 2016 to care for his terminally ill partner and fiancé, Deborah.
Following her passing, Mr. R made the decision to try to follow through with something the two had talked about over the weeks of hospital stays, chemo treatments and just time spent together; No one, especially children, should have to face cancer without hope. Cures must be found, but cures take research and research costs money…a lot of money. From that thought the idea of writing a children’s book and donating profits to cancer research was born. A year and a half later the idea is a reality !
If you are interested in purchasing a copy of Mr. R's book, you can do so by clicking on the link: “ The Smidgeons and the Glugs “
