Zion Building Program Update
May
Updates and Progress
We wanted to thank all of you that were able to come out to the “Celebrate Zion’s Past and Commit to Our Future” fundraiser for the building project. It was a wonderful time of music, food and fellowship. You may have already heard, but as of 5/8/19, there is are $942,560 in new money pledges! Further, over half of the $825,267 in outstanding pledges have been re-affirmed. We will continue to follow up with those individuals, but anticipate the majority of those pledges will be realized. Pledges continue to roll in, so we will continue to update you as we move forward to the May 19th voter’s meeting. If you’d like to make a new pledge, or re-affirm your existing pledge, please call or email Steve Cashio at steven.cashio@zionwalburg.org or 512-863-3065. As of today, by adding these pledges to the existing money on hand of $2,260,000, the congregation has approximately $4,000,000 applicable to the building project.
One further item of importance to note, on 5/7, the Church Council unanimously passed the following motion:
"As presented by the Building Committee, the Council supports the building project for the proposed parking, narthex and multi-use facility improvements (including covered drop-off and narthex expansion), subject to finalization of project and financing costs, which are to be presented at the 5/19/19 voter’s meeting."
We are in ongoing contact with the contractor, architect, and Church Extension Fund as we get revised numbers in for the project. The contractor intends to provide a “guaranteed max bid” on 5/17. This bid and its related impact will then be provided to the congregation for contemplation and prayer prior to the 5/19 voter’s meeting. Thank you all for you time, effort and support as we approach the voter’s meeting. Please contact Scott Linebrink (512-635-7102 or slinebrink@watermission.org) or Kristofer Kasper (512-966-9781 or kris@kasperproperties.com) with any questions.
