Reindeer Games & Holiday Crafts

Boone County Parks is looking for volunteers to assist children at the Annual Reindeer Games & Holiday Crafts party from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on December 4. Children ages 3-10 will travel from station to station and play a game to earn stickers for their reindeer certificate. Participants will also have the opportunity to make a craft at each station. Volunteers are needed to assist with the various stations.

Volunteers are needed to help maintain the Arboretum grounds, and staff public events. Grounds activities include helping plant gardens, pruning, weeds, and facilities improvement projects. Volunteers are also needed for special events to direct & park traffic, and to perform various other event related tasks. Link to volunteer information -

Florence Park Care Center

Florence Park Care Center located at 6975 Burlington Pk, Florence, KY is looking for volunteers to interact with residents in one of the following capacities: play cards, conversation, read to residents, assist with recreational activities. Opportunities are available after school or on weekends.

Bridgeport Healthcare

Bridgeport Healthcare is looking for volunteers who may wish to participate in on of the following activities:

  • lead a craft activity
  • read to a shut-in
  • assist with a bingo game
  • teach sign language
  • perform for the residents by practicing your speech and drama or play an instrument

Volunteers can also assist with filling the outdoor birdfeeders or gardening. Other ideas and suggestions for helping or interacting with the residents are welcome.

Mary Rose Mission

Mary Rose Mission is in need of volunteers to assist with preparation and/or serving an evening meal at their location at 272 Main Street, Florence, KY 41042. Meals are served from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. each Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Please know:

  • All volunteers must be high school age or older. 8th Grade students may volunteer with an adult.
  • Everyone must wear closed toe shoes for safety
  • Bring a hat or a hairnet will be provided
  • Park in the rear of the building closest to the guest entrance
  • Cook shift should arrive at 11:00 AM (unless directed otherwise by the lead cook)
  • Serving shift should arrive promptly at 3:30 PM (2nd shift). The 2nd shift is expected to stay until their shift has been completed (approximately 6:30 PM).
  • In case you need to cancel on your assigned day, please change your assignment on SignUp AND leave a message on our voicemail at 859-292-0300.

The Bill & Betsy Scheban Care Center

The Bill and Betsy Scheben Care Center, part of family of The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky, is dedicated to the mission of helping adults with disabilities maintain their ability to function in the home and the community. We also provide respite for families and caregivers to reduce the physical, emotional and financial stress experienced during long-term care.
