Assignment 52: What is a Makerspace?
Create a Google Doc in your SMA Assignments folder in the SMA Google Drive. Title the file "52_LastName" (ex: 52_Duggins)
Answer the following questions about what you learn on the website (be sure to checkout the whole page - Use the Scroll...):
1. What is a Makerspace?
2. What are some of the things you can do in a Makerspace?
3. What does Diana Rendina say is her definition of a Makerspace?

4. What jumped out at you during the video?
5. Describe what you think about having a Makerspace in the library? What could students do there?
Assignment 53: Create OGHS Bookmarks
Bookmark Themes:
- Coloring Bookmarks
- OGHS Online Resources
- OGHS Sports
- Motivational/Inspirational Quotes
You can create your bookmarks digitally or using the printed template in the SMA folder in the drawer. If you need a digital template see Mrs. Duggins.
Digital bookmarks should be titled "53_LastName" (Ex: 53_Duggins) and submitted in your SMA Assignments folder in the SMA Google Drive.
Assignment 54: Investigate Circuits using Little Bits
You may work as a team or individually to investigate the activities in the Little Bits manual. Once you have an understanding of how they work, create a circuit that isn't in the manual. Take a picture of your creation and place in the SMA Assignments Folder. Be sure to title the image with all of the members that participated in this activity.
When you are finished, place all of the pieces back in the box and give back to Mrs. Duggins.
Assignment 55: Cryptography and Syphers
Your assignment has three parts:
- Decode the message for each code (there are 3: a Pigpen Cipher, Binary Code and a Rotate 13 code.
- Create your own messages for each code. Use the blank code activity sheets to create your messages.
- Make enough copies of your new messages for the students in your class and try each person's code out. Can you decode their messages?
Paperclip all of your sheets together and place in the SMA Folder on the counter.
Assignment 56: Can you create something with the Makey Makey?

Your task is to work as a group to create an activity using the Makey Makey! USe your imagination. You can use an idea from the Makey Makey website or you can come up with your own.

Before you begin creating, see Mrs. Duggins to get your idea approved and to get the Makey Makey.
Weekly Assignment Checklist
- Have you completed your "Daily Duties" each day this week? Remember this is a grade.
- Be sure that Assignments 52-56 have been completed. You will receive a grade for these assignments.
- Complete your "Weekly Duties" - These will be graded on Friday!
- If everything else is completed, read your book or work on homework
