To participate in co-curricular competitions such as performances and games, students must be in school the entire school day. VEX Robotics
Congratulations to Team 1200A for qualifying and competing in the VEX Worlds Robotics Championship in Dallas, TX. Only the top 7% of the VRC teams in the world qualify to compete in the Championship. It is outstanding that Team 1200A finished in the top 5% of those teams with their skills score. They finished four and six for their matches. Great job Charlie Cedergren, Nicholas DeBraal, Daniel Duvernay, Sam Foord, Nate Pable, Ethan Tines and Alex Walsh!
- Congratulations also to SMC alumni who competed at VEXU Worlds. Paul Nutini competed with the Milwaukee School of Engineering team. Billy Walsh was with the Purdue BoilermakerBots and Max VanRossum and Agii Kerwin were with the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Wiscobots. Max started the VEXU program at Platteville! Congratulations to them on becoming the two-time World Champions with a victory over a really strong team from Shanghai, China in the finals!
Music
SMC had a terrific showing at State Solo & Ensemble on April 29 at UW-Oshkosh. All three SMCHS events earned a “1” top score rating! We are so proud!
Paige Danen – Musical Theatre Solo = 1
Mary McCurdy – Musical Theatre Solo = 1
Olivia Nagel – Violin Solo = 1 and Olivia also received an Exemplary Performance Award from the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA). This means that her violin solo was one of the best State Solo & Ensemble performances in the entire state of Wisconsin!
Congratulations to all of these outstanding performers!
