REACH Relaunch

Our REACH relaunch will be held Thursday 5 April. Please join our fabulous Parent Link Team in the staffroom for a coffee and Tim Tam from 8:30 onwards and then you are welcome to join our REACH Assembly starting at 0930. We will acknowledge all of our Student Leaders at this time as well, as some parent/whanau missed out seeing them last week.

Our teams are sharing various skits around each of our REACH letters. We will hear about the history of our REACH programme over the past 14 years here at IPS, sing some songs and go out to a celebration of bubble. We are going totally environmentally friendly this year, hence no balloons being released.

You are all welcome to attend.

Te Wera Camp

Intermediate Camp

This week our Intermediates are having a fantastic time out at Te Wera Camp. Education outside of the classroom is important to us here at IPS and we are very grateful to all BoT, Staff and Parents who make opportunities such as these possible - thank you. Campers are due back to school by Thursday 29 March around 2:30pm

Creeklands Camp

Senior Camp

Two weeks ago our Year 5 and 6 students attended camp at Creeklands. There were many and varied activities for these students as well and again we thank the BoT, Staff and Whanau very much as without the support, this camp could not have happened. Many thanks to the fantastic cooks and organisation, the students had a great time.

Bike Skills

Over the term we have had various teams involved in a bike skills programme. This programme promotes how to be sensible on a bike or scooter out of the school grounds. We are grateful to the providers Let's Go Cycling and the team of instructors. Please remember that we here at Inglewood Primary do not recommend that any child under the age of 10 travels to school on their bike unsupervised.

To make this a success we need to ensure bikes have adequate brakes, students have correctly fitted helmets and closed in shoes are the safe option. Let’s empower our students. Those that do not have bikes will have access to a limited number of cycles provided.

  • Year 1-4 Let’s Go Scooter Skills Training: Mon 21st & Tue 22nd May

Students who have been selected to represent the school in the Annual Town vs Country have been given notices.

Netball: The season is a few weeks away and we are in the process of organising what the Inglewood Satellite will look like, including teams and subs for the players. It looks as though our Year 1-6 players will be based in Inglewood and our Intermediates will play in the New Plymouth competition. Thanks to everyone who has offered to help out with their daughters or sons team. Prior to the end of term, a meeting is to be held regarding the Inglewood Satellite and our role in that.

Sports Uniforms: Please check at home for any sports uniforms, especially netball skirts, dresses and touch singlets. We need these returned urgently.

Hockey

We're putting feelers out to see if we can get enough players for teams in Year 1/2, Year 3/4, Year 5/6 and Year 7/8 this year.
All games will begin Monday Week 1 Term 2 30 April and finish the end of August and will be played at the Stratford Turf.
If your child is keen to play, please collect a permission form from the school office.
