The last week has been so wonderful with our Rose Stingrays in the building! We welcomed back all students grades K-5 and I have been enjoying visiting each classroom to learn more about what each student likes and how they spent their summer. Students have been transitioning smoothly into the new school year, learning the schedules and procedures of their classrooms while becoming acquainted with new classmates. We realize that students are still building up their stamina and getting into the routine of a school schedule but they are definitely getting there! Staff are providing movement, snack, and mask breaks as needed, while being mindful of the extreme heat outside! Our school year is off to a great start, and I am so happy to see all of the smiling eyes each and every day. A school is not a school without students inside!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Please communicate with the office to make alternate arrangements for transportation. Teachers may not be able to check their email until after school, so please call the office (847-844-1200) so we can communicate the changes to the classroom teachers and dismissal supervisors.
Drop-off/pick-up line: in order to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and safe conditions for our students, we ask all drivers to remain in the car and use the pick-up and drop-off lines to get your children safely to and from the school building. If you need to come into the building in the morning or afternoon during this time, please park and use the crosswalk (a staff member will escort you). Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Back to School Night will be a virtual event this year on September 8th from 6:30-8:00 PM. More details will be forthcoming!

Volunteers Requested
Our Rose Librarian, Ms. Meiser is looking for Library Volunteers to re-shelve library materials and occasionally help with special projects. Parents would not volunteer when their child is in library class. If interested, please email Ms. Meiser at pmeiser@barrington220.org with your availability. She will then train volunteers before they start as materials have been shifted to accommodate for STEM. Questions? Contact Sumy, the Library Volunteer Coordinator (sumy77@yahoo.com). Thank you!
We are also looking for parents to join our Hospitality Committee on the PTO. This committee organizes lunch or dinner for Rose staff a few times a year during conference time. If you are interested in helping, please contact Ann Shah at annsejalshah@gmail.com
Room Parent Signup
Becoming a room parent is a great way to get involved at Rose School. The room parents are in charge of organizing and helping at the Halloween, Valentine's Day and End of Year Party for their child's classroom!
* SIGN UP IS TIME SENSITIVE!!! - Please look out for the email that will be sent out next week with the signup information.
* The first four people to register will be the room parents for this school year.
* Please note Room Parents are currently not allowed in the building due to safety mitigations and will be only assisting the teachers with whatever help they may need. As and if things change, they will be notified.
In order to fund the parties, Party Fees are collected in advance to make sure that the events are fun and festive, and that children within the grade receive similar experiences. To pay your child's $10 Party Fees for the year, please click this link: BR PTO Class Party Fees
If you have any questions, please contact the Room Parent Coordinator, Sharon Bellock, at 847-602-0055 (text) or email at sharonbellock27@gmail.com.
