Longhorn Stampede

2018-19: Leading the Herd (1)

Big picture

Welcome Back, Longhorns!

Lone Star Families,
Please read all the way through to the end of this newsletter. It contains an exciting piece of information just for you!

We can't wait to see your smiling faces at Meet the Teacher this week! Remember that if you will be walking your child to class on the first day, you will want to drop your license off so we can run your V-soft sticker while you walk around. Pick up your tag on the way out, and you will be able to skip the long line on Day 1!

Walking your children back:
Any/Every Day - All parents may walk to the Hug&Kiss zone in the foyer, and children will continue past the hallway doors on their own (We always have staff in the hallways to help!)
Day 1 (August 21) - All grades; parents must have visitor sticker
Days 1-3 (August 21, 22, 23) PK and Kdg; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker
Days 1-5 (August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27) PK; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker

Thank you! This helps us ensure that staff attention is focused on children and safe protocols are in practice.

Meet Your 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher: Ms. Wilson, room 406

Hi! My name is Baylie Wilson! I am one of the fifth grade math teachers at Lone Star! I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in math and science for fourth through eighth grades. I also continued my education at Texas A&M and received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2016. The hobbies I enjoy are traveling & being with friends and family. This will be my second year at Lone Star and I am ready for an exciting year! My goal as a teacher is to create a classroom that inspires critical thinking and a love for learning.

Parents, please feel free to email a picture of your child and a few sentences about them to your child's teacher in response.
