Twitter Vocabulary Lesson

Tweet: may contain photos, videos, links and up to 140 characters of text.
Retweet: A tweet you forward to your followers.
@ sign: The @ sign is used to call out usernames in Tweets
Username: How you are identified on Twitter
Hashtag: Any word or phrase immediately preceded by the # symbol.
Follow: Subscribing to another persons Twitter account.
Followers: Another Twitter user who has followed your Twitter account.
Direct Message: Private messages sent from one Twitter user to another Twitter user.
Reply: A response to another user's Tweet.
Mention: A tweet in which you include @username of another Twitter user.

Hootsuite: Social Media Management

A platform to manage different social media outlets in one place. Including Twitter, Facebook, Google +, LinkedIn, WordPress, Instagram.

We will be using HootSuite for and easy way to manage and use Twitter for educational chats.
