A message from your Home Liaison!

What does UNITY mean to you? Webster's Dictionary defines unity as "a state or condition of oneness" and "a condition of harmony." Each day at Ridge-Brook, we strive to teach our students that we are united, a group, a family. Like our mascot, the dolphin, we travel together, look out for each other and support each other on our journey.

This mission is supported by the Parma City School District's "Embrace All" Initiative. We celebrate our unique qualities and strengths within our united school family.

Please join us as we celebrate World Unity Day on October 19th, 2022. World Unity Day strives to eliminate bullying in our children's lives by focusing on how much we are alike. This year, to celebrate, we will be making an orange (Unity Day's theme color) paper chain all the way around Ridge-Brook! We will also be having different Unity themed activities each day of that week.

Please have your child wear orange on Wednesday to celebrate! More information will be coming home soon!

Thank you for your support, and for sharing your child with us!

Title I Update

Hi Ridge-Brook Families!

We have been busy benchmarking and assessing the needs of each student in K-2. We have begun our small groups during PIE time and also give daily extra support to Kindergarten and First Grade classes. We truly enjoy our time getting to know one another and look forward to another successful year together!

Be sure to read every day! If you need additional read aloud check out storylineonline. There are some exciting books you can listen to! (

You have the right to know about the teacher qualifications of your child’s classroom teacher in a school receiving Title I funds. The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that any school district receiving Title I funds that they may request (and in a timely manner), the information regarding the professional qualification of the student’s classroom teachers, including the minimum, the following:

  1. Whether the teacher has met state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject area in which the teacher provides instruction;
  2. Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification of licensing criteria have been waived;
  3. Whether the teacher is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher; and
  4. Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
  5. You may seek this information by utilizing the Ohio Department of Education website at

  • Under Teacher Resource Tab, click on Educator License.
  • In Resource Section, click on Education Profile Search
  • Type in the Teachers First and Last Name and click on Search Educator.

PBIS Update:

At Ridge-Brook Elementary, you will hear us talk a lot about being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready. We are excited that we have reached the point of the school year where students can begin to spend their Dolphin Dollars at our Snack Cart and shop in our Dolphin Cove. Keep earning those Dolphin Dollars by making good decisions and displaying our 3R's throughout the day!

As fall begins and the colder weather approached, indoor recess is more likely. So remember a few of our most important indoor recess PBIS rules: keep hands and feet to yourself, clean up after yourself, and voices are always at level 0-2.

Go Dolphins!

Mr. Fennell

Dean of Students
