March is Women's History Month. In March, we commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. Please join FMS in celebrating Women's History Month.

Fugett Science Olympiad is going to STATES!
The students have been working hard to achieve this goal since late September, doing four invitationals on Saturdays that required many hours of research, studying, designing, and building! Coach Trombley stated “I am so very proud of what they have accomplished. Getting to compete with the best in Pennsylvania at the State Competition is their hard earned reward!”
Only the top 36 middle school teams in the state earn the right to compete at States.

Bingo Night - March 31st!
Fugett Middle School is hosting a BINGO NIGHT on Friday, March 31st benefitting Fugett Best Buddies. For $10, you get 10 games of BINGO and 10 chances to win great prizes like Urban Air passes, gift cards, and Eagles gear! Grab a group of friends or bring the family for a fun night!
Fugett Athletics
Spring practices have begun, but there are no games this week. Please be sure that your child listens to the morning and afternoon announcements for any information regarding canceled practices. Be sure to use your REMIND information from your child's coach to get the most up-to-date information!
Chester County Football Camp
Please join the West Chester East Football program for a week of football, friendships and fun at the Chester Country Football Camp. The camp will be held the week of June 19-23rd on the campus of Rustin High School. Current W.C. East players and coaches will be on hand to promote self-confidence, good sportsmanship and individual/group instruction on the offensive and defensive schemes and fundamentals of football. Campers will be able to get a feel for what it takes to play a number of those positions.

Hello from the Fugett PTO!
Thank you for all of the emails regarding our open committee positions! We still have one position open for the chair of the Beautification Committee. We already have a few volunteers for this committee but need one or two volunteers to lead it. The Exec board will be voting in the new committee heads during the April Exec board meeting.

Beautification Committee (Available Now): We are looking for volunteers to lead and join our newly created beautification committee. This committee will be responsible for maintaining the front planters, the courtyard garden box, and a bulletin board in the cafeteria as well as some special projects throughout the school year.
Donations for West Chester Food Cupboard
The PTO is collecting donations to support the WC Food Cupboard. Please consider purchasing items in need and having your student place the donation in the blue bin marked "Food Cupboard", located at the cafeteria entrance. items most needed are: diapers, feminine products, cereal, toothpaste, deodorant, canned meat and fish, and canned fruit. Any items that you can spare are always gratefully accepted. We will continue this much needed service throughout the year. Thank you for your generosity and support!

April 16th - Virtual Mentoring and Tutoring Initiative
Parents and Community Members, we have heard your call for action. You have said stop talking and act, so let’s go!
Please join the WCASD Team and Dr. Una Martin, Interim Director of Equity, for an informational meeting on April 16 from 2:30PM to 4:30PM at Peirce Middle School-located at 314 Burke Rd, West Chester, PA 19380.
The purpose of this meeting is to mobilize parents and community members to strategize the launch for a Zoom mentoring and tutoring initiative for K-12 students. Come prepared to participate in the discussions and plans to create action steps for the implementation in the fall of 2023.
Family Engagement Session - March 23, 2023
Come together for an evening of learning and discussion around building community within the West Chester Area School District. We will explore how social awareness and relationship skills are foundational to a safe and supportive community for all.
Upcoming Events from West Chester Communities that Care
West Chester Communities That Care is excited to let area families know of the exciting opportunities coming up in March.
On Saturdays in March, we are hosting a four-week THRIVE Project where teens in grades 7-12 will work alongside area design, marketing and communications professionals to craft a youth-driven professionally designed campaign to address underage alcohol use. Culture shaping products including posters for school hallways and a social media campaign are expected outcomes, along with real world skill development in youth and increased awareness of facts and myths surrounding alcohol use.
March 16th at 6:30pm, in conjunction with WCASD, West Chester Communities that Care will host a Parent Speaker Series event called Talk Now. Know How. Register using the link below.
