Without Lysosomes there will be no enzymes to break down the lipids and Polysaccharides and they will accumulate in the body.

For Olivia Kalie's case, the intracellular organelle that's most likely being targeted is the Mitochondria. I know the Mitochondria is the organelle being targeted because of the description of the case. "The doctors saw that the muscle fibers were ragged red which contained mild accumulations of glycogen and decreased activity for the enzyme cytochrome c oxidase." This is the only organelle that'll show this defect.

For Frank's case, the intracellular organelle that's most likely being targeted is the Golgi Apparatus which also produces lysosomes that enable the intestinal cells to secrete needed enzymes and bile salts into the intestinal cavity. The description of the size which is 2500 nanometers in width fits the golgi apparatus because it is the largest organelle.

The Case of Mary Streaver

For Mary's case, the intracellular organelle that's most likely being targeted is the Peroxisomes. The case said there was a defect in fatty acid metabolism and Peroxisomes has something to do with fatty acid breakdown and also with myelin production in the nerves.

Is one organelle more important than the rest?

No, because they all interact with each other to produce the desired effect in the cell for the body to function properly.
