Decimal operations...easy!
Decimal operations are so easy to do! You can do: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
But..What exactly is a decimal?
A number that has a decimal point. A decimal point is a point or dot used to separate the whole number part from the fractional part of a number.
Adding and subtracting!
Adding and subtracting is really easy. You just align the decimal points and add or subtract normally, just like a whole number! And of course, add the decimal point at the end in the same place it is now.
Example of addition!
See!! It is very easy!
Example of subtraction!
We do it the same way! But instead we subtract!
Another example of addition!
Same thing!
Multiplication!
When we multiply, we just multiply like whole numbers...But instead we count how many decimal place there is and just add them to our product!
Division with whole numbers!
When we divide a decimal with a whole number, we just divide normally, but we just put up our decimal point like this:
Dividing with decimals!
Now we count the number of spaces of the outside number and take off the decimal point the same number of spaces, and also on the inner number. At the end just pull up the decimal point. Like this:
