The Muse visits the writers on the The Shire's ADT

Writing a podcast series and a radio play with fifteen students

That might just seem impossible... except... these student are amazing, and the support of our community has been wonderful. Thirteen of the fifteen writers on our Audio Drama Team met one memorable evening. We had a lot to do - season 1 of a series to brainstorm so that we could write episode 1 of our radio play. Honestly, it seemed a bit unrealistic... but... then... it was as if the Muse hovered over a table at the IdeaPad and opened up her arms. The plot points for the season began to fall into place.

Hope you enjoy the video. It doesn't quite do justice to the excitement, but maybe after watching you'll have a sense of the enthusiasm. It shows what an AMAZING space (thank you IdeaPad!), good snacks (we love you Kowalskis!), and active encouragement (you're the best Wendy Gimpel), will do to fire up creativity. None of this would have been possible without a grant from the St. Croix Valley Foundation.

Ready? Set? Go! Composers and SFX Team Begin

Student musicians are composing original theme music for Episode 1 of HUSH, and at the end of June, the SFX (Sound Effects) Team will begin. Secondary Students: do you like to compose music, write lyrics, create sound effects or play in a band? If so, we'd love for you to join us on our radio play adventure.
