The positive and negative affects of the Columbian Exchange
3 positive effects of the Columbian Exchange are Europe and the Americas both gained useful goods they had never seen before. This is important because they used those goods to hunt, eat and grow food. For example the horse was sent to the Americas and used to hunt Buffalo.Another positive effect of the Columbian Exchange is that they gained crops like corn,Tomatoes, cocoa and wheat. The last positive effect of the Columbian Exchange is that Native Americans taught Europeans how to grow crops. This was important because the Europeans were not taught how to grow crops in Europe and by the Americans teaching them, they were able to have a bigger supply of food. But there weren't just positive effects of the Columbian Exchange, there were also negative effects. There are the negative effects of the Columbian Exchange. The first negative effect of the Columbian Exchange is that Europe brought over a disease which killed over half of there population. The second negative effect of the Columbian Exchange is that in Europe a potato fungus started which killed 1000's of people. The third negative effect of the Columbian Exchange is that many people were starving, getting sick and dying on the trip to Europe and to the Americas.
