Thinking About You
LES Weekly Social-Emotional Update * June 19, 2020
Congratulations LES Families!
We hope that the summer will give you time to relax and unwind. Please continue to connect with us via our YouTube channel (linked below) and with one another. LES has proven over these past months that even though we are physically apart, we are always connected :-) Have a wonderful summer!
And a special Congratulations to our 3rd Graders!
We are so proud of you and wish you all the best of luck in 4th grade. Always remember, no matter what school you attend: Do your best, nothing LESs! We will miss you! Have an awesome summer and enjoy our farewell video to you!

Social/Emotional Read Aloud
Only One You
This book should look familiar to students as we did a school-wide art project based on it earlier this year!
Coping Skills
Remember that it's good to experiment and find the coping skills that work best for you, and to keep in mind that you may need several different strategies to use in different situations. The more coping skills we have to help us thru difficult times, the more resilient we will be! Learn more about the 5 Coping Skills Styles (with a handy checklist) at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TjAYs7RBuM&feature=youtu.be. (Credit: Coping Skills for Kids)
Don't forget our coping skills from the last few weeks:
- Find one good thing that happens each day and write it down
- Talk to someone you trust
- Wrap up in blanket or build a pillow fort
- Picture the people you care about
- Do a kindness for someone by writing a letter or baking a cake
- List your positive qualities and think positive thoughts
- Imagine your perfect world
- Take a deep breath (star breath, candle breath, belly breath - so many choices!)
