National Library Month

Celebrate National Library Week (April 10-16) with a library visit and a good book. We love to see what you're reading and help you discover new titles.

Lively Library Lessons

Spring has been keeping us quite busy. We've celebrated Dr. Seuss week and Read Across America. The campus celebrated reading by hosting literacy night with lots of fun reading events at the beginning of the month. Kinder and First graders enjoyed listening to Fraidyzoo and experiencing 3D animals through the Zoo Kazam app. Second graders had a blast creating fractured fairy tale summaries via Chatter Kids app. They also finished up their two week research unit using Seesaw to demonstrate their learning. Third through fifth graders used National Geographic Kids to determine whether myths held true or had been busted. They created comics to show what they had learned using Strip Design app. They were quite clever and creative. Cute products!

April is National Poetry Month! Celebrate with a Poem

We are excited to be celebrating the month with poetry. Each grade will be learning about poetry, listening to and creating their own. We have lots of fun things planned. Don't forget to visit the 811s section of the library for a variety of poetry books. We can't wait to see all of your poems turned in for April. I wonder what scent the bookmark will be this month!

Battle of the Books and Fairy Tale Bowl

We are so excited. May brings us much to celebrate. Second graders will participate in the first ever JK Fairy Tale Bowl on May 5th. Many have been busy reading those fairy tales so that they are ready to compete! Third graders will compete in their Battle of the Books on Friday, May 13th, while 4th graders will hold their stiff competition on Thursday, May 12th. It will be exciting. Hope you'll plan to join us.
