Thursday's Session Recap: Words Matter: "Learn Nonviolent Communication"

Susanna Warren the Director and lead trainer of the Compassionate Communication Center explained and shared the power of Nonviolent Communication to help get young people to listen. Words matter… but it’s much more than a communication technique. It can help both you and your child better express your emotions through conversation.

Here are some tips that might help you and your child.

  1. We fare better if we know how to get those needs met in a cooperative way, rather than an aggressive way.
  2. Each of us has remarkable inner resources we can use if we are given empathy to get in touch with them.
  3. Try to come up with an agreement with your child.
