Reminders and Dates
Our Related Arts Schedule:
Monday- Computer
Tuesday- PE *Every Tuesday, please make sure your children wear tennis shoes/appropriate clothing to run around and play in.
Wednesday- Music
Thursday- Art
Friday- Clubs
ipads- Please continue to make sure that students charge their iPads every night, and place them back in their backpacks for the following day. Thanks again for your help with this! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me. mondah@apps.anderson1.org
Homework- Students still have a homework sheet in their green folder that says their homework for the night. Please be sure to check their behavior for that day. You do not need to sign this sheet.
Green Folders- Please send the green folder back to to school each day so we can put any important papers in them to send home.
Box Tops- Please send in any box tops you may have! Place them in a ziploc bag or envelope with your child's name, "Mrs. Cash", and 3rd grade written on it. This is an easy way to raise money for our school!
Reading Logs-These are in your child's green folder. Now that we have learned how to calculate elapsed time, please make sure that you are allowing your child to take responsibility for this on their own. This is an excellent way for them to apply what they have learned to real life! Students should be reading at least 20 minutes each night. I would encourage them to read longer if time allows.
Spelling-Students should be practicing their words every night. The directions for each word sort are given with their words. Let me know if you need any clarification on what to do for each sort. Please sign this paper for further verification that your child did their spelling practice. The homework is designed so that students will have practiced with their words multiple times prior to their quiz on Friday.
Muliplication Facts- Repeat Repeat Repeat. The best way for students to learn their multiplication facts is repetition. Quiz them with random facts in the car or before they go to bed. Students are now familiar with facts 0-12. The flashcard app and charades app is also an excellent resource. We have been a multiplication game called Multiplication Showdown with other third grade classes. Our class is currently in the lead! Students are really enjoying this friendly competition.
Daddy Daughter Dance- This will take place on Feb. 19th 6pm-8:30pm. PTO is in need of people to serve food and/or make dessert for the event. If you are willing to help, please contact Janna Forrester at Jcfcu2001@gmail.com
Watch D.O.G.S.-This is a great program for our dad's to be more involved in our school and the lives of your children! Please contact Jane Mann at mannj@apps.anderson1.org if interested.
