Walk To School Day- Wednesday, October 6th

JRB students (K-5) and staff members are participating in International Walk to School Day with students and staff from Oakmont Regional High School. Our walk will start around 8:40 AM at Oakmont Regional High School and end at the John R. Briggs School. All regular bus routes will run, but they will drop-off the students at Oakmont where teachers and other JRB staff members will greet them and direct them to the football field.

Students who get dropped off by parents should also be dropped off at Oakmont, not JRB, on Walk to School Day. Parents can drop off their children from 8:20 AM-8:30 AM at the front entrance of Oakmont where the JRB staff and Oakmont Peer Leaders will greet them and escort them to the football field.

For students who participate in morning Extended Day and arrive before 8:20 (as well as some of our staff), there will be a bus (or two) to bring them to the high school where they will join their teachers and classmates for the walk to school.

Oakmont teachers and students will escort each JRB class as they walk to school. The Ashburnham and Westminster Police Departments will help with traffic flow to ensure the safety of all students. This activity is designed to teach students how to walk safely and respect the rules of the road. If we think the walk will be postponed due to inclement weather, raining or temperatures below 40 degrees, the walk will be canceled and notification will go out by 7:30 AM.

When Calling Students Out Sick...

Calling your student out sick always feels like there is a fine line as to how much detail needs to be shared and how much is too much for Mrs. Pilsbury to hear. However, the nurses' office is asking you to provide as much detail as possible in order to allow them to follow up as needed. Thank you.

A Note From The PTA

Thanks to everyone who has become a member of the PTA this year, It was so good to see all the new faces at the first PTA meeting of the year! New members have some great ideas for the upcoming school year. We are looking forward to getting back to “normal” (fingers crossed) and host some great family-friendly events, in-person this year. Would also like to welcome back Tiffani Sell as the new Vice President of the PTA for the 2021-22 school year, Thanks Tiffani
