Wilson Focus Facts October/November
Lion Pride News for our FOCUS Families!
Principal's Message
Greetings Families,
Fall is in the air! Mornings are getting cooler. It's time to get out the jackets and find our fall and winter clothes, so we are ready as the temperature changes.
We have had a great start to our first quarter of school and happy that we are having a healthy beginning to the school year. This helps with attendance so our students are at school ready for LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION and LEARNING!
Enrichment classes are in full swing! Our students are excited at the end of their day to transition to these highly engaging fun and learning activities. Walking Club, gardening, needlepoint, crafts, Taekwondo, Soccer, Minecraft, Robotics, Lego building, Yearbook, Cheerleading, are just a few of the many classes students have as choices.
Fall Harvest Celebration
Wednesday, October 26th
We will have an all school fall celebration at the end of the school day on the 26th.
If your child would like to dress up, have them bring their costume to school and they will change before the start of the celebration (no violent costumes or play weapons). If your child would like to bring a treat to share with the class, it needs to be store bought and individually wrapped.
*Link sent out today.

CALL THE SCHOOL TO REPORT ABSENCES
If your student will be absent for ANY reason, please call the school at (531) 299-2260. We not only want to verify absences, but also the SAFETY of your child. If you need a Spanish translator to report absences, please contact Josefina Sanchez at (531) 299-1652 and she can relay the message.
Our attendance goal for each student is to miss no more than 9 days in a school year. It is important to receive a phone call from parents and/or guardians when a child is absent. When absences are repeatedly not reported they will be marked unexcused and a home visit may occur. Communication between home and school is the goal. Please contact the principal and/or counselor if there are situations that are seriously effecting your child's attendance.
If your child is absent they will make up the work when they return. If they are absent for more than 2 days in a row, we can have work available for pick up at the school at your request.
Please see the following Omaha Public Schools website link for the attendance policy.
