No NEW Assignments! Get caught up and get all of your assignments in!
Not required, but fun to do!
Over the summer
Over the summer, it is highly suggested to take your instrument into "the Shop" to get the yearly maintenance taken care of. Most fo you are renting from Rettig so please take it there. The closest location is Westlake and they have an amazing repair shop in which they can clean, adjust, and unstick anything! Please call ahead before going there because they do have summer hours.
Why take it in? Imagine your instrument is like a car. Every 3,000 or so miles you need to take your car in for an oil change and maintenance. The same is with an instrument. At the end of every school year it is best to take it in so it is ready to go when return for the following school year!
Parents! PLEASE check Powerschool!
There are quite a few students not turning in assignments for 5th Grade Band. Please check PowerSchool to make sure that you student isn't missing any due assignments!
ALSO with Flipgrid....I am giving video feedback to each student so they need to watch them so they can become better!

5 Habits for Effective Practice
- Get all the notes correct (don't worry about rhythm, if it says f-e-f...make sure your are playing f-e-f!)
- SLOW practice (take it VERY slow for accuracy!)
- Clear Practice Target (think to yourself, I want to achieve THIS today!)
- Plan practice by event (SCHEDULE your practice time!)
- Regular review (listen to your assignments before and after you practice..they are on flipgrid and smart music!)
