Harvester's Drive November 2-9
The OMS Community Service Club and Student Council are holding our annual Harvester's Food Drive on November 2-9 at OMS! Students and staff are encouraged to donate canned or boxed food items to our drive. We will have collection barrels in the front hall—the grade level that fills their barrels first will be rewarded with a Hot Cocoa/Cider party in Flex following our food drive!
Harvester's and other food pantries in the KC Metro area provide food to 59% of the people in need in our KC community. The Harvester’s Network provides food to 141,500 people every month through backpack snacks to schools, as well as providing food to the elderly and families in need. There has been a 30% increase in need for food assistance in the past 2 years.
The Student Council is inviting our OMS students to participate in our school spirit days next week, to highlight our food drive efforts.
Please plan to dress for each day's theme, Nov. 2-4:
Wednesday- Nov 2nd
- Scare Away Hunger
- Wear your scarecrow attire including flannel/plaid, overalls, denim, or your favorite floppy hats.
Thursday- November 3rd
- Help Our Community Find Comfort
- Dress for Sweater Weather
Friday- November 4th
- We CAN do it!
- Bring out your CANdy corn colors and any other autumnal fun!
Thank you for your support of our annual Harvester's Food Drive!
