COVID Update
There has been a significant growth in numbers of COVID cases in school over the last week. We will continue to notify families as appropriate where we have identified close contacts. Please do ensure that LFD tests are taken daily. School only needs to be informed if an LFD is positive so that we can respond accordingly. If your child has any symptoms (see table above) that are associated with the Omicron variant, please do access a PCR test and isolate until the outcome is known.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
Isolation periods
From Monday 17 January, people who are self-isolating with COVID-19 will have the option to reduce their isolation period after 5 full days if they test negative with a lateral flow device (LFD) test on both day 5 and day 6 and they do not have a temperature. For example, if they test negative on the morning of day 5 and the morning of day 6, they can return to their education or childcare setting immediately on day 6.
The first test must be taken no earlier than day 5 of the self-isolation period, and the second must be taken the following day. All test results should be reported to NHS Test and Trace.
If the result of either of their tests is positive, they should continue to self-isolate until they get negative results from two LFD tests on consecutive days or until they have completed 10 full days of self-isolation, whichever is earliest.
Anyone who is unable to take LFD tests or anyone who continues to have a temperature will need to complete the full 10 day period of self-isolation.
Indoor PE Kit and earrings
A reminder - indoor PE kit for all children is black shorts (white if you haven't updated yet to black) and a plain white T-shirt/school logo T-shirt. Grey joggers are for outdoor kit. Please do ensure children have all kit in school. If children have had ears pierced they must remove earrings, if children are unable to (eg newly pierced) then plasters to cover the earrings should be provided.
Thank you for your continued support.

Reception Superheroes
Reception Superheroes
Reception have thoroughly enjoyed reading about the adventures of Supertato this week in Literacy. Much to Reception’s surprise, Supertato called upon their powers to help rescue the baby Supertatoes missing in the school grounds. Using their superhero maths and phonics skills and a special detective torch, the Reception children were able to reunite all the baby Supertatoes and then write to Supertato to let him know the good news! Great work Reception!
Creativity and imagination were in full swing this week when Reception thought about the superhero powers that they would like to have. Maxwell would click his fingers and everyone in the world who was poorly would be made better and Sophia would have magic rainbows that sprayed from her hands to make people smile. What fantastic ideas! The children thought about the superhero outfit they would like to wear and then designed their own super creative capes. The making stage is well underway and we look forward to revealing the Reception Superheroes in next week’s newsletter...
