A&M Consolidated Middle School
Cat Tales November 2015
From the Principal, Mr. Jeff Mann....
Greetings AMCMS Parents & Guardians,
We just concluded the second 6-weeks grading period and the course work and curriculum has certainly increased from the start of the school year. Please remember to contact your child's teacher if you have concerns related to their academic performances or any other concerns related to their classroom. I want to share how proud I am of your children. On November 6 we hosted the Fall Dance and the students really did well. They had fun, they acted appropriately, and all but a small handful were picked up before 10:15. Thank you very much for helping remind your child of the expectations. We also had our annual Veterans' Day assembly on November 11. I was so pleased to see how respectful our student body was throughout the entire assembly. The fine arts performances were top notch and it was a real treat for the TAMU Singing Cadets share in this event with us as a school. I placed a thank you announcement for the students in the school announcements because the students did so well and they need to know that! They are meeting the expectations we are setting as a school like I know they are capable. You should be proud.
Please continue to be involved in your child's educational lives. It makes a difference. It matters. Thank you for being an involved parent. Please contact the school or your child's teacher. Working together we all provide the greatest educational opportunities for your children.

From the PTO President, Kara Holmgreen...
Thanks to all our businesses, families and students who supported AMCMS during our CatSlam fundraising campaign this fall!
CatSlam started in the summer with the committee soliciting t-shirt sponsors. After school started, we kicked off our student portion of the campaign. Students earned rewards for bringing in donations and participated in a change contest that decided what Mr. Mann would do during halftime at our student vs. faculty basketball game that wrapped up CatSlam.
We are happy to report that your PTO dollars are being put to work. Thanks to your generous contributions, the PTO will be purchasing 20 iPad minis and 9 Ladybug Document Cameras that will be used in the classrooms at AMCMS this year!
Please consider signing up for AMCMS Teachers School Supplies Wish List by clicking on the link in the newsletter.
We would also be grateful for your participation in "Cats Helping Cats" initiative at AMCMS.
Need stocking stuffers? The PTO is selling AMCMS elite socks and headbands. Look for an order form online soon - socks are $15 and headbands are $10. Contact Kara Holmgreenkmholmgreen@gmail.com for information on how to get yours!
