What's happening at the winery.....

The fall is a busy time for wineries with harvested grapes ready for processing. We just finished fermenting two different batches of Cabernet Sauvignon (from separate vineyards) and one batch of Petit Verdot. These will both be nice, big red wines in the true "Trent" style. He has a way with them.

The 2021 harvest was a particularly good one, because there was a lot of summer heat and limited rain. When grapes are stressed, due to the lack of water, they produce more intense flavors. The clusters of the grapes are smaller with fewer berries that are smaller than usual. This means the berries are of better quality all the way around. They're going to produce some very nice wines according to Trent, and he's pretty excited about it. These wines will be in oak barrels for a couple of years but we expect some dynamite wines when they've matured. We'll keep you posted on progress.

Upcoming events

The Old Poway Park is holding it's Rendezvous Weekend, the first weekend in October. It's where people camp through the weekend in tents and show how the old westerners lived way back when. It's a fun event and a good one for the kids, so they can see how we lived back in the 1800's. We expect a busy weekend at the winery too.

Burger Night

Burger Night is being held on October 15th. You all know what that means. Time to grab a burger and a glass of wine and enjoy the evening on our patio. Greg from Filhart Beef will be grilling his Grass Fed, Michigan raised meats from 4 to 8PM. I'm sure the whole area is going to smell good. I'm drooling already.....

Going Cashless......

Mission Cellars has decided to go CASHLESS, starting October 1st. We're trying to keep up with the times and very few people are using cash anyway. We hope you'll understand and agree with our decision. Thanks for your support.

We'd like to thank you all for supporting the winery. We appreciate you supporting Small Businesses and for keeping Mission Cellars viable. We'll continue to make EXCELLENT WINE - just for you!
