Students are only allowed to ride the bus that they are assigned to. They are NOT allowed to take a different bus for any reason at this time.


MCAS Testing

This year’s testing dates are:

StuCo Spirit Weeks

Student Council is promoting school spirit and awareness with spirit days and weeks. They are partnering with an environmental and anti-bullying group of students to promote our core values of being kind, responsible, safe, and inclusive!

Important K registration info - K registration is now open, please plan to register by Mar1 as placements will be developed based on those enrollments - students registering after Mar1 may be processed after classes are developed - call Mrs. Hall in FNS main office with any Qs - 978-346-8319

PTO News

4th grade Robotics Club

The PTO is in need of volunteers to help with this session of Robotics club. This 8 week session meets after school on Tuesdays. If you are able to help please contact the PTO at merrimacpto@merrimacpto.org

The PTO is looking for a new treasurer for our next school year. Please let us know if you are interested.


Paint Night With Ms. Dupre
Who doesn’t love a little artistic fun?! Thursday, April 28th from 5:30-7:00 PM the PTO will be hosting a Paint Night with Ms. Dupre at the Sweetsir School. Space is limited to 50 participants. The cost will be $10 per person and will include all of the materials needed to participate. This is not a drop off event. Each student must be accompanied by an adult. Adults not painting do not need to purchase a ticket. Tickets will be available on Tuesday, April 12th using the following link. bit.ly/36DTZp8


PTO Bookstore
The PTO Bookstore is back by popular demand! Friday April 29th, and Friday May 20th the PTO Bookstore will be open for students at both the Donaghue and the Sweetsir during lunch time. We are collecting “gently used” books to be sold in the store. If you are doing some spring cleaning and would like to donate any books to the PTO please bring them in and place them in a donation box located in the school offices.

Community Easter Egg Hunt

The Merrimac Senior Center is hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 9th at

11 am.

Ongoing Book Sale

The Friends of the Merrimac Public Library, a non profit that encourages public use and enjoyment of library services, has established an ongoing book sale in the library. Donations from the sale will assist in fulfilling bequests for the library community. Come in and see what we have!


Old Home Days 2022

Old Home Days will be happening Friday August 12th through Sunday August 14th and we are still looking for committee leads and assistant leads. Help make OHD 2022 out best year yet! Please contact us at volunteers@merrimacohd.com



It's not too early to sign up for the Jamaco River Run/Walk 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run held on Saturday, June 18th. Sign up before 5/31 for just $25. Kids under 16 are $20. The Jamaco River Run is a charity event that raises money for Merrimac youth sports. Come join us for music, food, raffles and fun! More information at jamacoriverrun.com.


Interested in learning how to Cheer?

Register now for a 3 day camp during April vacation sponsored by our very own Varsity Cheerleaders! This camp will be held in the High School gym for everyone ages 4-12. It will run from 9-1 April 18- 20. For details or email Juliefreitas77@gmail.com.
