Return to In-Person Learning (Reminder: No school on Monday)
We hope you all had a fun and restful Winter break. We look forward to our students return to Woodfield on Tuesday! As always, we ask that you communicate if your family has been requested to quarantine due to a COVID-19 exposure or positive test result. Our staff will work on connecting with you for school work that can be completed from home if able. Please use the symptom checker guideline below before sending your child to school each day and report their absence to the school office if needed.
WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME FOR ILLNESS SYMPTOMS*:
Please make sure your household follows this symptom checklist (these absences will be excused and DO NOT count against your child's attendance record):
Your child MUST stay home if they have at least one symptom from this list:
- Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
- New cough, or a cough gets worse
- Difficulty or trouble breathing
- New loss of taste or smell
Your child MUST stay home if they have at least two symptoms from this list, even if they do not have any symptoms from the first list above:
- Sore throat
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Chills
- Muscle pain
- Excessive fatigue (being very tired)
- New or severe headache
- New nasal congestion or runny nose
Quarantine Request
Dress for the weather
As you are aware, our recess looks different keeping classroom cohorts together in assigned areas throughout the playground. This includes the playground area that has become snow covered now that the winter weather started. For tomorrow to be best prepared, we are asking all students to have snow gear ready.
Please make sure your son/daughter is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. Coats and hats are necessary for the impending cold weather. The decision to have an outdoor or indoor recess is based on both the wind speed and temperature. If it is an outside recess day, all students must go outdoors.
Clothing
All students are expected to go outside for recess whenever the wind chill is above 0 degrees. Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather. This includes a warm coat, mittens or gloves, hats, scarves, snow pants & boots when there is snow. Please write the student's name on all items.
