Envelopes for Communication and Grades
All teachers have received an envelope for parent communication. If you take grades, you have also received an envelope for grades. These brown envelopes will be turned in on your last day (May 26-28). Please know that these are educational records that must be kept on file for 1-3 years. It is rare that we have requests for them, but it has happened. You are responsible for making sure the items below are in your envelope.
What Goes in the Brown Envelope Labeled "Communication"?
- Copies of progress reports
- Copies of office referrals or conduct notes
- Parent emails or notes written that you've kept copies of
- Student Contracts--if you have copies
- Phone/Communication logs that you've kept
This information must be kept in our files for three years.
What Goes in the Brown Envelope Labeled "Grades"?
- Grades 2-5 will print out their grades for each marking period for each subject/class taught. These will be turned in the day you move to your new classroom.
- Grades K-1 will turn in monitoring notebook records and records to support the grades on the report card.
This information must be kept in our files for one year.
Moving Days
Moving day should be much faster than your pack up days, as all that will need to be done what is on this list. An administrator will check you out once you have completed everything. You will just need to find an administrator on the list of who is checking out that day. I will post that list on my door.

Getting Started with Schoology-Learning the Basics (1 hr)
Audience: Teachers
This video provides a basic overview of the Schoology functionality. An introductory slide at the beginning refers to “short term online learning”. This was added to the original overview presentation as a result of many districts choosing to add Schoology into their distance learning platform. You will see that Schoology is a long term, comprehensive solution to support a rich instructional environment.
Audit from TEA
Jenny Daniell is completing a spreadsheet for all students to indicate whether or not they have been engaged. Your forms will support the data she provides.
