From Mr. Clemente

Bravo to all the students who performed in this past week's Spring Concert! Through all of the irregular schedules, testing, and other obstacles that the Spring portion of the the school year brings, our students did a terrific job and gave some of their best performances of the school year. Definitely something to continue to build on!

An enormous THANK YOU to the Skena family for opening their home and hosting the Band Pool party on Friday evening! We are very grateful, and the students had a blast.

This week we have two more big events as we continue to wrap up the school year:

Band Registration Night on Tuesday is a crucial evening where we can begin planning for next school year in earnest. It is very important that either a student, parent, relative, or whoever drops off the necessary paperwork and initial Fair Share installment that evening. The more we can get in the night of, the easier it will be to organize and get communication lines open for next school year. Dropping off paperwork, Fair Share, and optional Band Camp Meals is quick and easy, and you should be in and out in 10 minutes or less.

Band Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Friday is an opportunity for us to celebrate the accomplishments of all the students in the Band program this school year. Even if you cannot make it to dinner, I encourage all our Band families to attend the evening's festivities, culminating with a retrospective slideshow.

From Mrs. Flood

1. BAND BANQUET AND AWARDS SET UP AND CLEAN UP: FRIDAY, MAY 10

We need volunteers to help set up the auditorium (9-11am), the cafeteria (1-3pm) and to take down/clean up after the awards ceremony. Sign up for one or more areas for which you can assist. Seniors may volunteer also if you are officially out of school at that point. If you have a flexible day schedule, please consider filling one of those spots. Go to the band calendar at www.winterparkhsband.com and click on the helping hand icon for decorating set up on May 10th.

Thank you for your support!

3. REMINDER: Band and Color Guard Parents and Students,

Our Band Banquet is this week. If you haven't already RSVP'D with number of persons in your party, please do so by choosing the RSVP icon on our band calendar at www.winterparkhsband.com . Also, sign up for the pot luck dish you will bring by choosing the helping hand.

Thank you!

4. Registration Night:

We will need volunteers during registration night for 2 shifts, 6-7:30pm and 7:30-9pm. Volunteer spots are available for sign-up on Charms.

BAND REGISTRATION NIGHT - THIS TUESDAY

This Tuesday, May 7, is our 2019 - 2020 Band Registration Night. This night is critical for the Band program as it allows us to begin planning for the next school year and open up lines of communication with incoming students. Please do everything you can to have your student's paperwork, initial Fair Share payment for the 2019 - 2020 school year, and optional Band Camp meals payment dropped off and taken care of Tuesday night. It's definitely not the end of the world if you are unable to make it, it just makes organizing all the paperwork easier if we get everything in at the same time.

Account credit can be used for the $50.00 Fair Share due on Tuesday. If you would like credit to be applied to this fee, please contact Mary Beth Johnston directly at mbkjohnston@gmail.com

Thank you to all the parents and students who plan to volunteer!
