Post Secondary Readiness
We met standards on all indices and received a Distinction in Science. Distinctions are earned when a school is in the top quartile of schools in Texas that are grouped together by similar demographics. The grouping is determined by the Texas Education Agency.
In 2016, to receive a Met Standard or Met Alternative Standard rating, districts and campuses must meet targets on three indexes: Index 1 or Index 2 and Index 3 and Index 4.
HB5 CaSE - Exemplary
The Community and Student Engagement (CaSE) rating is an opportunity for districts to showcase areas of success and excellence that are that are valued in the community. The statute requires each district to evaluate and designate a performance rating based on criteria set by a local committee. Each district and each campus is assigned a rating of exemplary, recognized, acceptable, or unacceptable. The district and campus performance ratings are reported annually to the Texas Education Agency.
The nine factors that are evaluated, along with the MWE rating are listed below:
- Fine arts - Exemplary
- Wellness and physical education - Exemplary
- Community and parental involvement - Exemplary
- 21st century workforce development program - Exemplary

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The crews are expected to fix the potholes and will be widening Memorial Green to allow for proper turn for school buses.
They have stationed a flagman and a police officer at or near the Clear Springs intersection to facilitate traffic movement.
The paving of the east and west sides of the intersection is expected to be completed soon, and after that, left turns into the neighborhood and into the school should be available. It is anticipated that this will significantly reduce the impact to traffic at the Clear Springs intersection.
We will continue to keep you updated.
