Odell Primary News

from Dr. Helf

Fall is Here!

Our school year is off to a great start! There are wonderful things happening at Odell Primary, and I’d like to share our school goals and a few upcoming events and opportunities with you.

School Goals

Our faculty and staff are committed to providing differentiated and personalized education to each and every child. Each year we develop school improvement goals to help focus our work and build our school’s capacity for teaching and learning. This year our school improvement goals include 1) To establish a baseline score for all students on the Dibels literacy assessment and use data to deliver impactful, differentiated instruction for students 2) To provide walkthroughs, professional development and coaching to teachers in order to increase success for all students 3) To implement PBIS school-wide so 90% of students are participating in quarterly celebrations

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held this quarter. This is a very important time to show your child that you are invested in their achievement at school. Please bring any questions you may have about the curriculum, schedules, and your child’s progress. Our goal is to have 100% of our conferences completed by October 29th. Your child’s teacher will be in contact with you regarding conference schedules, etc.

Service Learning Projects

Odell Primary participates in many service learning projects throughout the year. We believe that when we support each other we build a better community. This past month, our Kindergarten students collected socks for people in need. This month, our 2nd graders will be collecting items to make care packages for first responders. We will continue to offer opportunities to give back throughout the year. Way to go Dragons!

Welcome Officer Burgess

Officer Burgess is our new school resource officer. He helps us maintain a safe school environment. Thank you for everything you do!
