School Leadership Program with City of Wanneroo
This year we are excited to be participating in the School Leadership Program in partnership with the City of Wanneroo. As part of this initiative, a group of Year Six students were invited to attend the Youth Leadership Forum held late last term at the Wanneroo Civic Centre.
The forum was aimed at empowering the next generation of creative and vibrant community champions to develop solutions to local problems, through helping the young people to discover their leadership style, encouraging teamwork and learning the skills to set and achieve goals. The day culminated with our students developing a project plan to address a need within our local community and they will be working hard over the next two terms to see the project come to fruition.
Witten by Year 6 students Maisy, Shar and Nicholas:
“Last term a group of Year 6 students went to the Youth Leadership Forum to learn more about being a leader.
Our project is a community project aiming at helping the environment, community inclusion and health by making a veggie patch to donate produce to people in need in our community.
We are currently planning on how to put the project together and look forward to sharing our progress and updates on how the Community Action Project is doing.
We hope that the Community Action Project will benefit people in need and food banks. It will benefit those in need by donating produce and set out an example to other children in our community”
May - Month of Mary Prayer
Dear Mary,
As the month of May begins, we turn to you with hearts full of love and gratitude for being our Mother. Thank you for guiding us towards your son, Jesus Christ,
and for showing us how to love and respect each other, no matter our differences.
As a multicultural community, we recognise the beauty in our diversity and the unity in our faith. Please help us to continue growing in love and respect for one another,
so that we may truly reflect your love to the world.
In this month of May, we ask for your help and guidance as we deepen our devotion to you and pray the Rosary with our families.
We ask for your blessings and guidance in all that we do,
so that we may become true witnesses of Christ's love.
Amen

Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome back to school and to Term 2! As always, the joy we feel when we see our students’ enthusiastic faces as they return to school, is the blessing of our work.
TTFM Survey Results
Thank you to those parents and carers who provided us with valuable feedback about our school through the TTFM survey sent out to families last term. We value your experiences and we like to hear your voice as your opinions inform our school improvement process.
We have great cause to celebrate because the results from those parents who participated in the survey, were calculated against the region mean and we were above the mean score in all areas surveyed. The areas of measure were:
parents feeling welcome at school,
parents feeling well informed,
parents feeling that school supports learning,
parents feeling that there is a positive behaviour environment at school,
parents feeling that school is safe and inclusive
Despite us receiving a score, above the region mean in all these areas, there is always room for improvement and we continue to strive to make our school a place of belonging and excellence.
Medical
It is vital that we have the latest medical information on file to support any student who has medical needs. If your child has developed a new allergy, asthma or any other medical condition that we need to be aware of to keep them safe at school, please bring their medical plans or information to the front office so that we can cater for your child’s medical needs.
Complaints Procedure
It you have any concerns, please follow the complaints procedure that is set out in this newsletter. Your child’s spiritual, academic, social/emotional and physical development are our priority. In partnering with you in your child’s development we are open to your feedback.
May the Month of Mary
During the month of May, we honour Mary. As a staff we will be gathering on a Wednesday morning to recite a decade of the rosary. You will notice the prayer tables in your children’s classrooms reflecting a focus on Mary. We will keep our school community in our prayers as we recite the rosary each week.
God bless you all.

My name is Andy Ludvik and I have been the President of the Parents and Friends Committee for the past three years. Recently, we have had a few members leave our special group of Parents and Friends. We have now found ourselves with a very small group of people left who are willing to devote some of their time to our school and our extra activities.
Every year we host the sundowner, the Mothers & Father's Day Stalls, the Cake Stall, the Colour Run, the School Disco and the outdoor movie night, to name a few.
If you and your children have come along to these events and have had a fun time, we need your help now more than ever, as these events cannot possibly continue without more parents willing to help us. You don't need to make an ongoing commitment to coming to our monthly meetings, nor do you need to help at every event.
If you can spare a few hours during a day-time event, such as the upcoming cake stall on Friday 30th June, or at a night-time event, such as our upcoming School Disco, please send me an email to andrea.ludvik@hotmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
P&F thank you for your Easter donations
The P&F would love to say a huge thank you to all of our families and friends who donated beautiful Easter prizes for our 2023 Easter Raffle. There were so many amazing gifts and many kids from each class won a lovely prize to take home. Thank you all for your generous contribution and for helping make the Easter Raffle a great success.

Buckle up for National Road Safety Week (NRSW) at City of Wanneroo Libraries
National Road Safety Week (NRSW) is an initiative from the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, partnering road safety organisations and government to highlight the impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it.
Every year, more than 1200 people are killed and 44,000 seriously injured on Australian roads. National Road Safety Week is a time for us to remember those people who have experienced trauma on our roads. We urge communities to come together and make their pledge to ensure the roads are safe for everyone. To drive so others survive.
'How Safe is My Ride?'
Thanks to Community Event Grant funding from the Road Safety Commission and RAC, the City of Wanneroo is proud to present four workshops for the NRSW theme of How Safe is My Ride?
The City will be hosting Kidsafe WA to present workshops on ‘Choosing and Using Car Restraints’ at all 4 Wanneroo Libraries. This workshop addresses the most common questions asked by parents and carers on passenger safety.
Target audience: Workshops are open to parents, caregivers, expectant parents, grandparents and anyone that uses child car restraints.
Parents/ caregivers will be able to attend this workshop whilst their little ones are cared for in our pop-up creche by the Spiers Centre.
All 4 workshops will be accessible with an Auslan interpreter in attendance.
