Intervention
As you know, an intervention that offers the same support for all students is not an intervention; that is a tutorial. We want to be sure we work with the students in their tiers so that we can be more prescriptive in our approach.
Thank you in advance for your flexibility with this.
Capturing Kids Hearts
Data is Not a Four Letter Word
We have to work strategically, also. Remember to study some STAAR released tests and use those Lead4ward tools to your advantage. You should have a frequently tested SE form, as well as some great strategies to use in your classroom. Many of them incorporate frequent small group purposeful talk--it's a win-win!
Also remember to look at your students' performance on last year's STAAR. Are they maintaining, increasing, or regressing their performance level? Remember the phrase, "No one goes backwards." If students were at the Meets or Masters level and are now in Approaches or Did Not Meet, that is an opportunity for a conversation with that student. That social-emotional connection is important, too.
