Your Weekly Communication About All Things Muraski

Update From the Principals

Good Morning Muraski Families,

As we head into our final week of school before the winter break, we are very excited for all that this week brings. Our staff does a phenomenal job of creating fun and memorable activities for our kids. They do so, while still making sure our children continue to learn and grow each and every day. The week will come to a close on Thursday, December 16th, with holiday parties in each classroom. The staff at Muraski sends you warm wishes for a safe and enjoyable break. We hope that you are able to spend time laughing with friends and family, enjoy some time with your children, and get a little rest and relaxation if the two weeks allows you to.

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year! When we return, it'll be 2022.

Warmest Regards,

Mike Griffen

Thank you PTA!

We just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of our PTA members who helped make the holiday shop such a huge success. It is very clear that you spent so much of your time decorating the library to make it feel warm and welcoming for our students. The Winter Wonderland decorations certainly made us all excited about the holidays and the upcoming winter break. Thank you to all those who volunteered to prepare for the holiday shop with all the behind the scenes tasks, as well as those who volunteered to help the kids shop. The staff and students are Muraski are very lucky to have a PTA as involved as you!

PBIS School Climate Survey

It is very important to us at Muraski that we maintain a positive school culture and climatef for our students and staff. We want students to feel safe and happy about coming to school each day. As a way to ensure we are doing everything here at Muraski to support your child at school, we are asking that you set aside 10-15 minutes throughout this next week to fill out a School Climate Survey. This survey consists of 21 questions where you are asked questions regarding your perception of Muraski's school cimate using a 4-point rating scale (ranging from strongly agree to strongl disagree). The survey will close on December 20th. Once the window has closed, we plan on using the information gathered from the survey to plan our next steps as a building after the holiday break. We will also be communicating these reults with you in January. Thanks so much for taking the time to complete this survey. With the support and feedback you povide us, we are hopeful to continue providng our students with a safe, fun, and positive learning environment.

Looking Ahead to PBIS After Winter Break

At our recent staff meeting, the teachers had the oppotunity to look at PBIS data from the beginning of the year up until now to identify our top areas of need regarding PRIDE. As a building, we are chosen to focus on Prepared, Respectful, and Engaged begining in January. Our PBIS team will be meeting this week to begin planning for January's lessons. Mr. Griffen and Mrs. Hawk will be doing a building-wide "PBIS Boot Camp" to review and teach expected behaviors in different areas of the building, including the lunch room, playground, and classroom. Stay tuned for more information regarding the January Boot Camp!
