ORES Newsletter
January 13, 2023
Dear Oak Ridge Families,
One thing I can say for sure about the Oak Ridge community is that they take care of each other! I continually receive calls throughout the year from district patrons wanting to know how they can be supportive of the school and our kids. Many have sponsored students with school supplies, clothing, and Christmas sponsorships. Thank you for the constant support! Currently, we are working to secure as many school supplies as possible for students through grants and donations so back to school purchases for the start of the 23-24 school year are not so financially burdensome for parents. Click on the links below if you would like to donate through Donors Choose. Your donation is tax deductible. Students can also donate $1 to wear a hat on January 31st, February 28th, March 31st, and April 28th. Proceeds will go toward school supplies.
January 20th is homecoming. Next week is spirit week. See the flier below for dress up day details.
Come and join the fun on February 27th @ 5:30PM for the ORES Title 1 Family Fun Night! We will have food, games, and prizes as well as tips and tricks for helping your child with reading and math. Students that have a parent sign in will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Walmart gift card. Two gift cards will be given away.
The First Baptist Church is hosting a blood drive on January 17th from 1:30PM-5:30PM. Elementary students have the the opportunity to win prizes for referring adults to donate blood. See the American Red Cross Flier below for more information.
Fourth and fifth grade parents, mark your calendar for April 5th when these classes will visit our state capitol. See the flier below for more details.
