Virtual Classroom Etiquette
Virtual Classroom Etiquette
Families are asked to review the following expectations with their child regarding the virtual classroom.
Students should follow the virtual classroom etiquette and all school rules still apply in the virtual platform:
- When entering a virtual space, please mute your microphone and only turn it on when you need/asked to speak.
- Please be sure that students are appropriately dressed and follow the dress code in the PGMS Handbook. We are using virtual spaces to recreate a classroom environment as best as possible. Virtual sessions could be recorded.
- We recommend that all students turn their camera on, so that the teacher can see your face. But this is not required, if it makes you feel uncomfortable.
- When signing in you are required to use your given first and last name - nicknames, emojis, etc....are not appropriate.
- The chat feature will be used at the teacher's discretion.
- Cell-phones should not pose a distraction during classroom lessons.
- Students should maintain academic integrity in all classes.
- Students that are disruptive in the virtual classroom, could be asked to leave and the teacher will then be in contact with the parents about the circumstances and situation.
- All school rules apply in the virtual setting and the procedures the teacher sets forth are required to be followed by each student.
